Library Mouse -- picture book 5

Author/Illustrator: Daniel Kirk
Published by Scholastic, Inc 2008
Genre: Fiction picture book
Themes: reading, writing, imagination
Primary Character: Sam

The Library Mouse is a story full of imagination. It is the story of Sam, the library mouse, who loves to read. One day Sam decides he wants to write a book all by himself. Sam does not let the fact that he is a mouse stop his dreams. The story is a great one to foster imagination and encourage students that they can do anything they want if they try. This story could be used in upper elementary grades in which children can spell and express themselves in writing, and have a longer attention span. Use this as addition to lesson about writing and creativity.
